The talking Chair finally returns....

Launch postponed: gone but not forgotten.
I’ve just had word form the tireless crew in the Body office that this evening’s launch has had to be cancelled because of the inclement weather: Bugger! Still, they’re already talking about doing it as a Summer-times event – so keep those cowboy boots polished and an eye out for details. . .
Still, after the mild spring we’ve all been enjoying here in Christchurch, hopefully things will return to normal for the rest of the Festival. So welcome!
Workshops and performances both start tomorrow and it’s going to be an active and enjoyable fortnight no matter what the weather throws at us. I would encourage you all to get out there and book – door sales will only be available if the shows haven’t sold out and due to tight booking of all the venues, extra shows are unlikely.
I’ve been lucky enough to have had a sneak preview of the three Southern Lights choreographies: WOW! This is a level of professionalism the local dance scene has rarely witnessed: it’s so exciting that a big part of this is the strong local component. This show is definitely one not to be missed: entertaining and inspiring for all types of dancers and dance fans.
Of course this is just one of the many superb offerings this year: if you haven’t gotten hold of the programme simply check it out on line. Lots to catch up on at this busy time of year: I’ll try to get back with my impressions of the festival soon, along with any news from the Board.
Ciao,
Andrew
